Who are we and what do we do?
Established in 2025, Big Robots Rock is a UK based independent online retailer focusing on the gunpla and plamo hobby. We aim to provide the very best gunpla and plamo products to the UK market at fair prices!
All the items listed as in stock on our website are physically in stock with us in our UK warehouse, ready to send out to you. We DO NOT drop ship!
We only stock official products sourced through authorised distributors!
What is gunpla and plamo? Plamo is a portmanteau for plastic model kit. Gunpla in turn is a portmanteau for Gundam plamo (so Gundam plastic model kit). Both Gunpla and Plamo kits generally focus on pre-coloured parts that snap together without glue allowing for models to be built quickly and easily without the need for harsh chemicals or a dedicated painting area.
Background about the owner
Hi, I'm Callum! I've been building gunpla ever since I first started watching Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball Z on Toonami after school in the early 2000s! I've been quietly hooked since very sloppily snapping together my first no grade 1/144 Heavyarms and HG 1/100 Heavyarms Custom EW kits around 2003. No prizes for guessing my favourite mobile suit!
Fast forward 20-some years later and I dove back into the hobby in a big way!
This time with the power of a fully fledged adult salary (acquired by selling my soul and web development skills to a leading online motorcycle retailer) there was nothing to stop me building a backlog of kits that definitely exceeds my life expectancy!
However, in the process of filling my entire spare room with model kits I was repeatedly struck by dissatisfaction with the retail ecosystem in the UK. We have some absolute gems trying their hardest to provide for the UK market but all too often stock was sold out or only available at dubious scalper prices.
After seeing a well respected online retailer close (due personal circumstances) in the summer of 2024 I decided to step up and try to plug the hole in the market for another independent retailer with a specific focus on and knowledge of Gunpla and Plamo. After many months of work (and a few setbacks) Big Robots Rock was launched into the world.
That brings us to today!
