RG Evangelion EVA Unit-01 - Product Description
This Real Grade plamo model kit of the Evangelion Unit-01 piloted by Shinji Ikari and featured in Neon Genesis Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. It features a new design take on the classic EVA with enhanced surface details and a more mechanical focus giving the impression of a more realistic looking machine when complete.
This is a model kit that features pre-coloured moulded plastic parts using inset moulding to create parts such as the eyes and spike on the head that feature multiple different colours of plastic in a single piece. It also features snap fit assembly allowing the EVA to be build and displayed without the need for glues or paints.
Significant attention has been paid to the articulation of the finished model ensuring that the mobility of the artificial human has been fully reproduced in model form. When posing with the figure leaning forwards or looking upwards the chest, abdomen and back parts function together like multi-layered armour to provide an extreme range of movement. The chest in particular is impressively articulated.
Care has been taken to reduce parts clashing when bending the knees, the back of the knee features parts that sink into the model like real muscles do, successfully representing human-link joints on the Evangelion.
Internal part move in tandem when the neck move allowing for natural poses and facial expressions. The mouth of the Eva can be opened and closed to recreate various scenes from the anime.
The internal frame allows for impressive range of motion our of the shoulder, arm and leg joints. It is possible to recreate impressive crouching poses without compromising the overall silhouette of the unit. When the legs are spread the muscle like internal parts move in combination with the rest of the leg creating natural standing poses.
The Evangelion comes with a variety of optional parts, including, an entry plug, two types of progressive knives, the pallet rifle, 6 different pairs of hands and the umbilical cable.
