PGU RX-78-2 Gundam 1/60 (Perfect Grade Unleashed)

This is a Perfect Grade Unleashed Gunpla model of the RX-78-2 Gundam mobile suit piloted by Amuro Ray and featured in Mobile Suit Gundam.

Featuring pre-coloured parts and snap fit assembly this model kit can be fully assembled and displayed without the need for any glues or paints.

The build of this kit features the Gunpla Evolution Link System which employs a multi-stage assembly process, simulating the experience of building a real mobile suit.

The very latest Gunpla technology in condensed into each assembly phase. As you move through the phases of assembly, movement, structure, exterior and presentation you will experience the evolution of your Gunpla model as you build up the inner frame and continue to add additional layers of detail and exterior armour. These phases are:

1. Phase 01 - this phase comprises of collecting the preformed articulated inner skeleton of the mobile suit.
2. Phase 02 - building of the inner frame of the mobile suit.
3. Phase 03 - applying metallic details to the inner frame to create a structure with rich and visually intricate details. At this stage the mechanical structure for the majority of the opening hatches of the kit are created.
4. Phase 04 - layering the amour over the inner frame and applying detail parts to the kit.
5. Phase 05 - final detailing, decal work, exposing the opening hatches and installing the LED units.

This kit features the largest insert frame in gunpla history at the time of release, with a leg length of approximately 180mm. The entire inner frame can be assembled before moving on to any outer armour or details, a first for the perfect grade line.

Featuring the largest number of articulation points in Gunpla history at the time of release, with over 90 points of articulation throughout the mobile suit. The torso uses a core block mechanism which adopts an entirely new structure that includes 40 points of articulation.

The multi-layered inner frame uses multiple different finished parts, including metallic injection moulded plastics as well as plated parts to create four different metallic textures to add significant detail and visual interest.

For additional interest the kit uses a variety of materials including three types of secondary processing such as silver plating, matte plating, and chrome plating, as well as metal parts and newly developed etching plasticised stickers for extra details.

Features the most hatch-opening gimmicks on the entire body in Gunpla history at the time of release.

Equipped with a new LED unit to enhance the dynamic scenes. A new, compact RGB dual-LED light that allows for colour tone changes, combined with a design that maximises light guide efficiency, achieves both movement and illumination. This unit provides illumination to the head and chest vents.

A miniature lighting unit is installed inside the 1/60 scale beam saber. The beam blade, with its carefully formulated moulding material, achieves a realistic light piping effect that looks as if a beam is actually being emitted from the base. When the illuminated beam saber is installed in the backpack light piping will cause the backpack thrusters to illuminate.

The PGU RX-78-2 Gundam comes with its primary load out of weaponry and equipment that you would expect, including:

• Beam Rifle - the standard long range weapon of the gundam, this version of the beam rifle features multiple different colours for a finely detailed finished look. The foregrip is articulated on a ball joint to better support two handed posing options and the sight section features two points of articulation allowing for it to be swivelled from side to side with the sight itself being able to rotate through 360 degrees. When not in use the Beam Rifle has a flip out attachment peg allowing for it to be stored on the rear skirting armour of the mobile suit.
• Beam Sabers - three beam saber handles (two standard and one illuminated) are included along with two clear pink beam effect parts allowing you to recreate poses with the gundams standard melee weapon. The illuminated handle uses a BR435 battery and LED unit to illuminate the beam saber blade. When not in use two of the beam saber handles can be stored on the backpack of the mobile suit. If one of these is the illuminated beam saber then it can be used to light up the verniers on the backpack.
• Shield - the shield features a detailed build which multiple layers that really give the impression of a heavily armoured piece of equipment. A clear piece is included to recreate the shield window. The window features a sliding mechanism allowing for an armoured plate to slide across and close up the window for additional protection. The shield is attached to the mobile suit via a handle and magnetically using a heavily articulated arm allowing for a wide range of expressive posing options.
• Core Fighter - a fully colour accurate transformable core fighter is also included. Featuring functional missile hatches, an optioning cockpit canopy and deployable landing gear. An action base adapter is included for use with the core fighter allowing it to be displayed in flying poses using any action base with a 3mm attachment peg. If desired the core fighter can be transformed into a core block and used within the torso of the mobile suit in place of the standard core block unit.

A range of sticker style marking decals, etched metal parts, plastic detail stickers and foil decals are included with this kit that can be used to apply additional surface detail to the finished kit.

Amuro Ray and Sayla Mass pilot figures in 1/60th scale are included with this kit.
